Happy New Year!
First off, we just need to say a great big THANK YOU to all of you buying our candles and supporting this small, family business! We love you so much! This has been our busiest year yet, with more wax lovingly hand poured than ever before. We met and surpassed goals we, (quite honestly) didn't know were possible. As we enter 2022, we're reflecting yet again on our growth and what we envision for the next 12 months. Ah, it's fun to dream!
As far as resolutions, we have a few for you...
1) Light the candles more! No need to wait for a special night.
2) Try a new scent. Get out of your comfort zone!
3) Trim your wick EVERY time. Seriously.
Spring candles are here!
It may be sub-zero temperatures outside but we've launched our spring candle collection anyway! Introducing our Boozy Brunch Collection: Lemon Tonic, Wild Raspberry Rosé, and Irish Coffee. This collection was basically inspired by living through yet another year of the pandemic. Because if we've learned anything, it's that we need to grab fun and small indulgences whenever we can get them! If you're doing a "dry January" this is just the candle set for you.
Learn more about these new scents and purchase your own set here!
We've made some new friends in 2021!
In the twin cities, get your candles and delightful wines, cheeses, & more at France 44 in Edina!
If you're in Southern Minnesota you'll be glad to know of two new stores carrying our candles! In Mankato, the Prairie Pride Farm store, located in downtown near Cubs, has amazing farm fresh meats, Minnesota made jams, and now our candles too! For some fun shopping head over to Amboy, where you can also find them at 112 Maine Boutique.
Headed for a getaway up North? Stop by Pine Peaks Restaurant & Gifts, for some cozy comfort food and fun shopping, in Crosslake, MN.
Don't forget to
trim your wick!
Our #1 candle tip is this: TRIM YOUR WICK
After each burn, once the wax has cooled, it's important to remove the black crumbling ash before relighting. You can use a wick trimmer, a scissors, or even just pinch off as much as you can with your fingers. Removing the excess ash makes relighting easier, keeps the flame at a safe height, and prevents smoking of the jar. The wax also burns more efficiently so your candle will last longer too! Now that's advice we can all get behind!
What's in a name?
'Sota Cracklers! It's a terrible, terrible pun... so of course we went with it! Actually the name of our made-in-Minnesota candles is partly derived from the crackling wooden wicks we use! We're also BIG fans of Minnesota & proud to call the state our home! That's why our scents are named after places & things that are uniquely Minnesotan, like our piney Northwoods scent, or our cheeky Mosquito Bite scent made with citronella & mint.
We value quality, craftsmanship, & beautiful design. We strive to bring you a bit of nature with our crackling wood wicks, set into naturally smoke-less soy wax candles, which fit brilliantly into any modern or traditional home decor. Our wood wicks are responsibly sourced from US forests & our wax is also made from American grown soy beans. All our candles are carefully poured by hand, in small batches, in our St. Paul home studio for your enjoyment.
