We were
on TV!
We're thrilled to have our summer collection of candles featured on Fox 9 Good Day, along side other small businesses! As part of their "summer must-haves", Minnesota Monthly style editor Jerrod Sumner joined the hosts of the show to explore fabulous goodies for summer fun! See the entire segment here.
BTW, we all know there’s nothing like a cozy candle and chunky knit blanket to get you ready for the crisp fall weather, so don't worry, our autumn candle collection is in the works and on it's way soon!
Autumn Candles!
happening now
Hello August and hello to our new autumn candle collection! This is our favorite time of year; the official start to "candle season". We know that summer is still hanging on for a bit, but just as we're starting to see back-to-school supplies in stores, it's time to get your hands on fall candles! This year we've brought back your favorite, Harvest Apple, and last year's hot seller, Witchy Woman (omg, it smells SO good so we're personally really happy about this one), and we're introducing two new candles. Autumn Sunset is a warm and traditional fall candle that's rustic and not too sweet. Folklore is a spooktacular scent, perfect to set the mood while you're reading ghost stories on cool autumn evenings.

We've made some new friends!
In our adopted hometown of White Bear Lake you can now find our candles in Oldies & Goodies, a super fun new vintage boutique that also sells handmade goodies from MN artisans, right in the heart of downtown!
In New London, Minnesota head over to Happy Sol for some fabulous fashions (for both women AND men!), quirky homegoods, and of course, our candles.
If you reside in Perham, MN grab a cup of coffee at Nest and treat yourself to something fun in their gift shop full of unique finds and locally sourced goodies (& our candles!).
Headed for a getaway up North? Don't miss a hike around Gooseberry Falls in Two Harbors, and find our candles in their beautiful lodge gift shop!

Don't forget to
trim your wick!
every time
Our #1 candle tip is this: TRIM YOUR WICK
After each burn, once the wax has cooled, it's important to remove the black crumbling ash before relighting. You can use a wick trimmer, a scissors, or even just pinch off as much as you can with your fingers. Removing the excess ash makes relighting easier, keeps the flame at a safe height, and prevents smoking of the jar. The wax also burns more efficiently so your candle will last longer too! Now that's advice we can all get behind!
Want a fancy wick trimmer like the one in the photo? We've got you covered here.

About Us
What's in a name?
'Sota Cracklers! It's a terrible, terrible pun... so of course we went with it! Actually the name of our made-in-Minnesota candles is partly derived from the crackling wooden wicks we use! We're also BIG fans of Minnesota & proud to call the state our home! That's why our scents are named after places & things that are uniquely Minnesotan, like our piney Northwoods scent, or our cheeky Mosquito Bite scent made with citronella & mint.
We value quality, craftsmanship, & beautiful design. We strive to bring you a bit of nature with our crackling wood wicks, set into naturally smoke-less soy wax candles, which fit brilliantly into any modern or traditional home decor. Our wood wicks are responsibly sourced from US forests & our wax is also made from American grown soy beans. All our candles are carefully poured by hand, in small batches, in our St. Paul home studio for your enjoyment.
